Description: The morning hike to the work site in Saguaro National Park (West) will be short (about 3-4 miles RT), but frequently off-trail and across rough terrain.Take as many breaks as you like to sit and enjoy the grand view of the Tucson Mountains. Bring your lunch for after the morning's work to eat on a porch at the edge the Park's wild saguaro desert. Then in the afternoon get a tour of an off-the-grid, solar-electric strawbale house with passive solar heating, earthen plaster walls, composting toilets, and rainwater harvesting for all the home's water needs. The house was built to minimize it's visual impact on the stunning landscape where it sits amid the peaks and big saguaros.
