May - June 2012
In the fall of 2012, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will open a new aquatic facility as part of its 60th anniversary celebration. The facility will have two galleries — one freshwater and one marine — and will house fourteen large tanks, along with two "touch" tanks where visitors are allowed to touch marine life. The interpretive focus will primarily be on the waters of the Colorado River and the Sea of Cortez. This desert sea has over 2,500 miles of coastline and is home to thousands of marine species, making it one of the most diverse seas on the planet.
We hope that you'll want to browse the wish list and help us acquire some of the items we need for this exciting new exhibit.
