Painting Backgrounds in Watercolor - Linda Feltner, Instructor
From subtle to dynamic, using backgrounds in watercolor subjects can provide an added enhancement to a painting. From simple, elegant washes to dynamic colors, a background can enhance the presentation of a single subject, or set the stage for landscape painting. We will also experiment with masking fluids to aid in the creation of exciting backgrounds. These techniques will apply to most water-based mediums, including gouache and acrylics, and provide a basis for multi-media paintings.
