Workshop Class

Sonoran Desert Trees - Catherine Nash, Instructor

FULL

How does one express the shape, texture and color of our Sonoran Desert trees without drawing every little branch and leaf? Join us for an "in the field" art experience as we learn to draw and paint the mesquite, the palo verde and the ironwood trees on the Desert Museum grounds. We will begin with an in-depth examination of details and growth patterns and then evolve into an exploration of how to capture an expressive image of the tree within the desert landscape using economical mark making of elegant simplicity. This will be a mixed media approach to the trees of the Sonoran Desert.
